Mother’s Day Gift- Self-mothering Practice

Warrior Tree, Mother Tree

Power Posture

Maria Mar(c)2009

This is a Power Posture to help women practice Self-Mothering.

While women take care of children, elders, the sick, the community and their families, many of them find it difficult to take care of themselves.

True, with all their duties, most women find it difficult to find time for self-mothering. But that is just the surface problem. Beneath, lies a deeper emotional reason. We have been trained to place our selves last and to feel guilty for giving ourselves priority.

This exercise calls upon the sacred presence of  Trees to summon your Inner Warrior. This Power Self opens a sacred time and space, connecting you to the forces of the trees, the earth and the Universe for renewal and strength. It helps you to center yourself. Once you find your core strength and center, then you can call upon your Inner Mother to  embrace yourself and practice self-love.

Preparation

  1. In preparation for the practice, copy and paste these instructions.

  2. Download the audio on the right column.

  3. You can also download the beautiful Warrior Tree, Mother Tree original art by Maria Mar for visualization.

AUDIO MEDITATION

Click the link above to download
the audio meditation

and the poster.

Begin your Power Posture by standing with legs comfortably apart.

You can listen to the audio meditation as you adjust your posture.

Through ought your posture adjustment, see and feel yourself as a tall, sturdy tree.

You may want to download Maria Mar’s original Warrior Tree, Mother Tree art and print it as a visual aid.

Visualize your Hara line and feel your chakras spinning along this energy line.

  1. Adjust your stand until your weight is equally distributed between the two feet.

  2. Flex knees slightly, so that they are not locked. This helps in releasing and aligning the pelvis.

  3. Practice deep inhalation, allowing the air to travel all the way down to your belly. Release the air in a slow exhalation. The slower the exhalation, the deeper the relaxation.

  4. Roll your shoulders up and back in inhalation. Then drop them in exhalation. Do this several times, until they are relaxed.

  5. Release your lower spine by dropping your tail. Swing the pelvis back and forth slowly, until you find the center, where it is neither pushed forward not tugged in.

  6. Readjust your knees and feet again to make sure that your weight is well distributed.

  7. Return to Deep breathing for a while. Look at the tree art or visualize yourself as a tree.

  8. Release the upper spine by lifting the crown of your head upwards while slowly aligning your chin to be parallel to the floor. Feel the seven vertebrae in the back of your neck as they release any crunching and occupy more space.

  9. Stand relaxed, spine released, knees flexed and weight evenly distributed in both feet, and visualize an energy line (the Hara Line) that transverses your body. It shoots up from deep within the Earth core, runs through your spine and rises up towards the heavens. (The second illustration shows the Hara line.)

  10. Close your eyes and feel that energy shooting through you. Gently touch the points indicated here with your hands, one with the left, the next with the right hand, bringing the hands up and connecting each point with the previous one:

    1. Right hand-touch your crotch

    2. Left hand-touch your navel. Connect with the previous point.

    3. Right hand-touch the middle of your stomach. Connect with previous point.

    4. Left hand-touch the space between your breasts. Connect with the navel and then adjust the point in your middle stomach, until the line between the navel and the heart feels straight.

    5. Right hand-the tip of your nose.

    6. Left hand-between the eyes. Connect these points.

    7. Right hand-on the crown of your head. Connect this point with the previous one and then feel the entire line, from the earth through your crotch running up all the way to your crown.

  11. Now you are a tree. As you feel centered and in balance, begin to repeat the words in the Audio Meditation out loud, slowly. To speak like a tree, each work and sound is born in the stillness and silence and then released to the world as a delicious fruit. Remember to breath deeply as you talk.

I am Warrior Tree

Rooted in the deep Earth, I am

Centered and strong, I am.

Drawing life force

from the fire below.

Drawing life force

from the sky above.

I am Warrior Tree,

Connected to the Universe, I am.

  1. Once you feel relaxed, calmed, centered, rooted and aligned, begin to raise your arms above you slowly and lovingly. You are shapeshifting from Warrior Tree to Mother Tree. Speak out the second part of the poem. Again, speak like a tree. As you speak, your branches go up until they are open to the sides, and then you slowly embrace yourself.

Now I open my branches.

Now I release my love

in a generous green embrace.

I love, accept and nurture myself.

I am Mother Tree, I am.

I am Mother.

I am.

  1. Feel your basic goodness. Feel the beauty of your Essence. Feel as perfect as a tree. Allow the green embrace of love to shower all over you. Smile from within.

  2. You may close the meditation there, proceed to journal writing or ask your Inner Child what it needs or want and then do it there or set a time aside to do it during the week.

Practice this Power Posture three times a week until you know it by heart. Then use it whenever you realize that you are neglecting yourself.

Female Secrets in the Law of Attraction-Birth Your Dream

Female Secrets in the Law of Attraction

NO 2: Birth your Dream

By Maria Mar©

Author of the

Dream Kit

About Maria Mar

Women have used their creativity as alchemy of manifestation for centuries. This article shows you how to awaken this ancient female art to quicken the Law of Attraction.

Read more about this book. You have received the beautiful seed of your dream into your womb and your heart. There it lies, pulsating, like a baby, inside you. How do you bring it into term? You feed and protect it, as you would a baby, of course. But how do you bring it from your inner world of thoughts, desires and imagination into physical reality?

You birth your dream into life through the alchemical use of arts and crafts. This involves three elements:

· Arts and crafts

· Ceremony

· Alchemy

Let’s look at each of these elements and at how they combine to bring your dream into the world.

Arts and Crafts

When you take your desire or idea and create a work of art or craft that embodies this dream, you use your five senses to transform

  • a non-solid, non-located and non-temporal energy pattern, into

  • a solid energy pattern that is located in time and space.

This is the remarkable power of art to help you birth your dream.

Learn more about the Dream Kit.

Let’s say that your dream is to find your soulmate. You like to do collages, so you use the craft of collage-making to create a vision board of your life with your soulmate.

You search for photos of men that look like the man you envision and paste them on the board. You search for photos of couples doing things you want to do with your soulmate. Let’s say that you want to be able to walk among the trees with your beloved. You paste images of trees and a couple walking beneath them. Perhaps you want to share good food, cooking or eating out. You place photos of colorful, tasty recipes and a couple happily eating together. You may place photos of the house you want to inhabit with your soulmate on the vision board. As the vision board takes form, you are using all your senses to bring your dream to life.

Before you started your vision board, your dream was ethereal. It could not be sensed physically. Thus, it stayed in your inner world. Now, however, it can be comprehended by your physical senses.

  • You can see, taste, smell and touch it.

  • It has colors, textures, taste, fragrance and shapes.

  • It connects to things you know: a house, walking among trees, laughing together, sharing food and friends.

  • It elicits strong emotions: joy, empathy, positive expectations.

  • It creates a unique energy imprint. This generates physical experiences, such as warmth, familiarity and gratitude.

As a result, your dream has become physical, even before it becomes an actual event!

Ceremony

To create a work of art is a powerful way of attracting what you want. Women, however, have for centuries used art within a matrix that enhances its power. This matrix is ceremony.

A ceremony is a specific creative process that provides structure, rituals and tools to harness your energy and focus your intent for the gestation of a new reality.

When you structure the creation of your vision board within a ceremonial matrix, you build a structure, like a womb, that brings it to term.

Time is a key element in creating this matrix. You set aside a time-frame for shifting your situation; seven days or nine weeks, for example. This establishes a gestation period for your dream.

Rituals are also an essential ingredient in ceremonies. Rituals are metaphorical acts that change the texture of your reality and hash the process of change.

In your vision board ceremony, you can create certain rituals, such as start-up, gathering, development and closure.

you may start every day with meditation to set up the correct mood. You may follow by gathering pictures, textures or making drawings as you intuitively pick up the images that express your desired life with your soulmate.

Once you are ready, you may paste one section per day. Each section of the vision board may refer to a specific area of the life you desire ~like intimacy, activities, sex, social sharing, food, emotional support, home, sharing a purpose.

You may then end each session by contemplating your vision board while you hear or play music.

These starting, gathering, developing and closing rituals are the patterns your psychic needles follow to weave your dream into your consciousness and into the physical world.

Ceremonial Tools

Music, images, meditation and collage-making are powerful tools for ceremony. Other tools may include herbs, massage, acupuncture, cleansing smudges, aromatherapy, candles, mantras and affirmations.

Less known tools are Healing Metaphors, such as dreams, signs and visions. Alchemical Mediums are also powerful tools. Organic energy from water, herbs, soil, fire, eggs, potatoes, feathers and potions have a direct impact in your Energy Field, psyche and cellular patterns. For centuries, women have used these tools. They have passed on these tools from one generation to the other.

You may remember that your grandma used potatoes on injured body parts to absorb the black and blues and lesions. You may use herbal scrubs, smudging or water to cleanse yourself and your home. When I was beginning my training as a shaman, I intuitively took an egg and passed it over a part of my body. When I cracked it, the yolk had turned into blood. This alchemical knowledge is in your unconscious, ready to be of service if you open your mind.

Alchemy

At this point, there is just one ingredient missing in your birthing ritual: alchemy. Consider this the midwife to your DreamBirth.

Alchemy is the catalytic process that allows you to transmute one state or substance into another. Like the ancient alchemists who work to transmute lead into gold, you will transmute absence and aloneness into the physical presence of your soulmate in your life.

Just as you are in the universe, the universe is in you. By holding this conscious knowledge and focused intention during the creation of your vision board, you fuse the universe in you with the universe around you, bringing your inner vision into the outer world.

If this still sounds strange to you, think about the ceremonies you now use for transformation. One common ceremony in women is clearance. You want to leave a relationship or job. You go home, and begin to throw away everything connected to that person or situation. You throw out piles of paper, sweep like a maniac and use water by the buckets. When you are finished, you feel that you are in a different place, and you have cut-off the attachments to that old reality.

As a direct result of your Alchemical Art creation, you may begin to see new life options that were invisible to you before. You may notice or feel attracted to a new type of man. You may also attract new men into your life. Before you know it, you will be in the arms of your beloved.

Alchemical Art, like cooking, is familiar to you. You may have learned to distrust it through the fear-mongering tales of witchcraft that socialized women out of spiritual power.

Perhaps you are scared of that power because you still hold the memory of the witch hunts through which wise women and healers were disposed of property and means.

Today, modern science and alternative spirituality have opened the path for you to reclaim the power of art, ceremony and alchemy. Bring it back into your life. It is organic to you as a woman and it works!

Assume your Personal Power with the Swan Posture

Assume your Personal Power

with the Swan Posture

By Maria Mar(c)

Do you catch yourself making yourself small, hiding your neck into your shoulders, like turtle, constricting your spine, folding your torso or hunching? This attitude leads to depression and lowers your self-esteem. It holds you back from taking action and makes you feel insufficient. It sends others the message that you do not believe in yourself. Why should them?

Whenever you realize that you are making yourself small, here is a Power Posture that will release your stature immediately, uplifting you and moving the energies that may have stagnated in your body. It will shift you from Ugly Duckling into the majestic swan you are.

My drawing below illustrates what happens to your spine and how you create back pain and disease as a result of your “Ugly Duckling” posture. Feeling small leads to standing small, which makes you small.

The Swan Posture works from the inside out and the outside in, to restore your magnificence stature. Be a Goddess!

The Swan Posture

  1. Stand with legs apart and plant your feet firmly on the floor. Keep your knees lightly flex and your feet positioned parallel to your hips.

  2. Feel your roots connecting to the roots of the Ancient Trees.

  3. Breathe slowly and deeply for three cycles: Inhalation, In-pause, Exhalation, Out-pause.

That’s one cycle. Inhale as fully as possible, allowing your whole torso to fill with air, from your crutch to your chest. Exhale as slowly as possible.

  4. Focus your attention on your spine. Release your spine as you exhale slowly. Feel your tail being released, so that there is no contraction in your pelvis. The excessive curvature in your lower back at the beginning of the buttocks should be released and lower back pain or tension should be alleviated.

  5. Now do the same with the back of your neck. Raise the crown of your head towards the sky and stretch the back of your neck. Your chin should adjust, being parallel to the floor. When you raise your chin up, as in false pride, you actually crunch the vertebrae of your neck. Make sure you release from the back.

  6. Now raise your sternum to the sky, offering your heart in celebration of the Goddess within you. Watch out that you don’t curve the back again! You are raising the sternum to the point that you feel your torso free and light, and your chest feels proud. But not past the point that you begin getting a curvature in your lower back.

  7. Breathe deeply and bring both your arms up as if you were taking flight. Feel your majesty. Feel your power. Feel the breadth of your love.

  8. Bring your arms down gracefully, as the Queen you are.

  9. Feel yourself connected to all the elements: air, water, fire and earth. Feel how you have the power to communicate with these elements inside you and in your nature. Feel your power!

That’s it. Practice the Swan Posture until you can do it automatically in 3 minutes.

Let me know how it goes. Take a bit of time to leave me a comment about his entry, will you? It makes me feel SOOO good!

Light and love,

Maria Mar

Attract your Soulmate with a Dream Basket

Creating a Venus Dream Basket

It is important for you to know what you bring to a relationship. Whether you already have a beloved, or are using the Law of Attraction to summon your soulmate, the Venus Dream Basket will nurture your self-love, confidence and your beautiful Venus Gifts. It will help you stand strong in your love, attracting or nurturing the love of your life.

A Dream Basket is a powerful shamanic tool for manifestation. It is like hatching something that is inside you, like a dream, wish or talent, into the physical external world. A Dream Basket can be used to attract prosperity, hatch a specific project into fruition, or nurture a relationship or aspect of the self.

The Venus Dream Basket has a double purpose:

  1. To nurture your Venus Gifts, reminding you of what you offer the world.

  2. To nurture your love relationship or attract your soulmate in the matrix of your magnetic Venus Gifts.

The Venus Gifts are:

  1. Love

  2. Harmony

  3. Beauty

  4. Grace

  5. Joy

To hear more about the gifts and leave your unique version of these gifts, visit this blog: Awaken your Venus Gifts.

Here’s how to do your Venus Dream Basket:

MATERIALS:

  1. Small basket, about 5″ diameter.

  2. 5 beautiful objects that represent each of these gifts (earrings, charms, shells, stones, gems) The objects should have a way of hanging them.

  3. Make a heart with cardboard or clay and paint it beautifully, or use a heart-shaped object, like a stone or bead.

  4. Photo of you and your beloved or a drawing or painting of your ideal beloved.

  5. Copper bell or similar sounding instrument.

  6. String or lace

  7. Scissors

  8. Incense. See below.

  9. Candle

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Smudge the basket with patchouli, rose or jasmine incense.

  2. Breathe deeply into your heart, and exhale your loving Essence into your photo.

  3. Do the same with the photo or drawing of your beloved.*

  4. Place the heart in the center of the basket and the two photos at each side.

  5. Meditate on each of the Venus Gifts, holding its symbol.

  6. Once you have your own expression of that gift, name it out loud. Describe it firmly, joyfully and lovingly, naming yourself and your gift. Sound the bell before and after each naming.
    Example:

    (Sound bell): LOVE

My gift of love comes wrapped in beautiful oceanic colors. That is me. When you open this gift, a beautiful music comes out. That’s my sweet voice when I speak to you with love. Then this gift touches you, and your skin, your bones, your heart and your soul become soft and vibrate. My warmth flows through you and around you, making home for you. (Sound bell)

  7. Hang the symbol for each Venus Gifts around the basket using the lace or string.

  8. When you are finished creating the basket, sit on a rocking chair or floor and rock it in your lap, like a baby. Sing to it about these beautiful gifts that you have to offer. Sing to it with an inviting, loving, joyful and tempting voice.

  9. Stay with the basket for at least 7 days or at the most a year. You can use the bell to activate it and rock it in the evenings, remembering your beautiful Venus Gifts and filling your heart with those gifts that you have to offer to the world and your beloved.

  10. Contact me and let me know what happened!

WARNING NOTES:

* Under no circumstance should you force your love onto another without their consent. If the person you love has not declare his/her love for you, please do not use a photo of that person. Rather draw or paint a photo representing your soulmate. Trust that the universe knows more than you and will bring you something much better!

** This is NOT a family basket. Don’t put your mother, sisters or children in this basket, please!

Awaken your Venus Gifts!

Awaken your Venus Gifts!

By Maria Mar

Whether you already have your soul mate or are looking for him (or her), you want to invoke the beauty, grace, magnetism and sweet loving energy of Venus. Known by many names, among them Ochún, Kuan Yin, Lakshmi or Aphrodite, the Divine Female Essence of Love is the fountain of joy and delight.

Love is the greatest power in the universe. It is, in effect, the source of the beauty and perfection of the universe. What is love? For me, it is the force that animates creation. For love the perfection of the rose unfolds its spiral. For love the  ocean roars, dances and heals, birthing abundant life. In love, the seagull soars through the sky and the sparrows sing all day. The Full Moon shines to illuminate our love or our longing for love. The New Moon goes within to guide us to the source of love. Because of love and for love you and I exist. Without love, life would be meaningless. When there is love, all can be achieved, transcended, created or withstood.

Our society, however, has relegated love to a tiny romantic corner to be visited in Valentine and when you want to watch the Hallmark Channel. That is like trying to reduce the mighty ocean into a bucket. Our society is obsessed with power. But by power it means control. Please, beautiful sister, do not fall under the patriarchal spell that has for centuries defined love as control, creating endless wars, making slaves and taking women hostage of its fear.

The myth of power as control is costing us our happiness, our love lives and our families’ happiness. Control is nothing but an addictive illusion. As a human being, you have an awesome power. You can create. You can co-create your circumstances, dancing with those who share it and the forces that can shape it. You can even summon all the forces and elements in the Universe to shapeshift your circumstances. That is a vast power! But you cannot control. When you try to control, you become a slave to that which you want to control, and you forsake love.

Let us then, begin the New Year of 2009 by celebrating love. Let us receive the upcoming Valentine by visiting the place within us that allows us to be the priestesses of love. For women, let’s face it sisters, are the embodiment and guardians of love among humanity. There are some extraordinary men who place love at the foundation of their lives and offer it the gifts of time and energy to be honored and nourished. But most of the time, it is us women keeping the torch alive, reminding our men of love, reminding them of birthday cards and anniversary gifts. Prompting or inspiring them to be romantic.

Let us celebrate the power of love that we bring everyday into our personal, family and social arena by naming our Venus Gifts today.

Here are five archetypal Venus Gifts. I name them as I experience them. Take each one and name it as YOU experience them. If you want to do a Venus Dream Basket, read the instructions for the ceremony by clicking the link.

LOVE

My gift of love comes wrapped in beautiful oceanic colors. That is me. When you open this gift, a beautiful music comes out. That’s my sweet voice when I speak to you with love. Then this gift touches you, and your skin, your bones, your heart and your soul become soft and vibrate. My warmth flows through you and around you, making home for you.

HARMONY

I am Harmony. Every day I summon Harmony. I become one with the Harmony of hawk, flying seamlessly in an open sky. I become one with the Harmony of sky, birthing me in each breath. I become one with the water. The water I drink. The water that showers me. The water that helps me cook. I become one with Harmony. Harmony is my prayer, for in Harmony love expresses itself. In Harmony, everything becomes music. In Harmony each being sings its unique note and joins others to create the symphony of life.

BEAUTY

Beauty is the expression of the Essence of a being. Nature expresses its Essence with transparency. Rose does not hide its aroma or its velvety delicacy. It does not even hide its thorns. Tree does not try to be straight and perfect. It simply is. It seeks the light and twists and turns to enjoy it. It is naked in winter and dress for a party in Spring and gives from itself effortlessly. This is beauty. This is the beauty I hold dear, the unaffected, loving beauty that shines from within. This is my beauty.

GRACE

As all springs from love, so does Grace. It is the expression of love in every act. It is Harmony moving us from within. I breathe deeply, from my Essence. I surrender to the Goddess of Love. I summon Harmony and listen to the song of the universe. And then I dance. All the clumsy tiredness, the tiny irritations disappear. I am love. I am beauty. I am Harmony. I am Grace.

JOY

“You are a gift, Maria,” a friend recently told me. How sweet, those words. Yes, that is what I am, what I want to be. What I want to give. We often work so hard to be loved and accepted, when all the time what others want and enjoy is our Essence and our Presence. I am present here now. I am celebrating this moment. As Isha (Author of Why Walk when You can Fly?) says, “Love creates me in my perfection.” I celebrate you today. I celebrate life. Laughter heals, beautiful sister. Let us celebrate and laugh.

Take each of the Venus Gifts and name it as YOU experience it. Allow yourself to express your beauty and uniqueness, your poetry and grace. Let your soul speak and your love soar!

God bless you beautiful sister,

Light and love,

Start your Dream Journey

Okay, so you have a dream. Great. What are you doing about it? You can talk about the Law of Attraction until your tongue hangs out. But I personally guarantee you that the only thing you may attract with mental or verbal speculation is a headache. The Law of Attraction, like the rest of the Dream Laws, is about energy and resonance. It is about spinning a vibration that resonates with what you desire. What are you spinning with your words, your every day acts, your deep-seated beliefs, those that you may not even tell others, those that you may not even know you have?

My question is not about working frantically to “fix” yourself. Goddess, no! We are already stretch to the limit and stressed beyond it! I am not asking you to judge or badger yourself, either. I am asking you to look at the landscape of your life. What is in the foreground? What is in the background?

If you are always placing problems in the foreground, your life will be full of problems. If you usually place bills, responsibility, security and survival, your life will be full to the top with…guess what?… bills and survival-based fear and worry. If everyone else and their needs goes to the foreground while you stay in the background, then the landscape of your life is about others, and you are left out of it.

There is a tiny place inside you. It’s perhaps the size of a small treasure chest. Place your open hand, palm down, on the center of your chest. There. That’s the place. The place where you point to when you say “I”. Who is “I” for you? Are you living this “I” that you are in this tiny place called Soul? This is the Seat of your Soul. Are you occupying that seat? Your Personal Dream is an expression of your Soul. It has to do with what nurtures your Soul, what makes you deeply happy (not just entertained) and what fulfills your potential. Are you seating in the Seat of your Soul? Are you giving your Dream a place in the foreground of your life, day after day? Or does your Ipod get more attention than your Soul?
“There are people who put their dreams in a little box and say, ‘Yes, I’ve got dreams, of course I’ve got dreams.’ Then they put the box away and bring it out once in awhile to look in it, and yep, they’re still there. These are great dreams, but they never even get out of the box. It takes an uncommon amount of guts to put your dreams on the line, to hold them up and say, ‘How good or how bad am I?’ That’s where courage comes in.”

Erma Louise Bombeck

I invite you to assume that courage, to own the landscape of your life and begin to bring your Personal Dream, your Soul and yourself to the foreground. This is a process, not a project. To help you start your Dream Journey, I have created this blog. Beyond it, I have created a one-year Dream Journey in a safe place called the Dream Express Membership.

Naming your dream is bringing it to life. Don’t keep it in that tiny box, hidden from the light and the eyes of those who can nurture it. Bring it out into the open, let it roam free in the landscape of your days.

This is not about great acts of heroism or being perfect. This is about moving each day an inch, perhaps a millimeter, closer to your personal truth, to your Soul, to that which dances inside you waiting to be expressed and to take form in the world. Every day a millimeter, an action, a thought, a word, a release, a sharing or a shedding. In one year you will be a different person. More focused, confident and above all, believing in your dream and making it real.

Here’s to dreaming.
