Is your soul screaming through your body?

Is your soul screaming through your body?

By Maria Mar ©

(artist-shaman)

If you are in this page, chances are that you were searching for an answer to some physical condition that is aching or disturbing you. You may have a strong intuition that this condition has a strong relation with emotions or stress you have been experiencing.

We are used to seeing the body as something other than the Self. Perhaps as a rental car that drives us back and forth or a cabin we inhabit. But the body is the Self. As my creative partner, Corazon Tierra, teaches, the BodySoul is the Self. The connection between body and soul runs deeper than our conscious mind can understand. Sometimes it bypasses our logical mind altogether.

While you may be exasperated by a physical manifestation that is painful or cumbersome, and you desperately want it to go away, it may actually be your ally. Here I share what I know about the wisdom and healing that may come from the experience of somatization.

As I am a shaman or soul healer, I am not talking from a medical perspective. I am sharing what I know from personal and professional experience in working with energy and emotions.

Somatization, as I define it, is the physical manifestation of emotional, spiritual and mental stress and imbalance that expresses itself in the body as disease or as a physical condition, including accidents, allergies and other conditions.

Here are a few conditions that I’ve seen or suffered. I connect each condition to the emotional, energy or spiritual source of the condition, and the lessons you may learn from it.

Though most conditions are expressions of energy and emotional patterns, once they are manifested physically, you need to treat them at a medical level. The table below is not a diagnosis tool. Seek expert medical diagnosis and follow your doctor’s advice. The information below may help you address the deeper causes to speed up recovery.

Condition Sources Lesson
Spasm Fear of moving beyond deeply rooted unconscious limits. Brings limiting beliefs embedded in the cells into the surface, to be melted away.
Twisted ankles Ambivalence, moving towards a direction that betrays your true needs and desires Makes you stay still and consider the direction your Soul wants you to take.
Fibroids, excessive bleeding Caretaking, stagnation of passion, pouring your energy into empty vessels Teaches you to save your energy and use it wisely and moves you to dance your passion for your own joy
Lumps in the throat Not speaking your truth, fear of assuming your authority, betrayal of your creative expression, refusal to sing your song. Shows you how you are betraying your personal truth, power or creativity and pushes you to express yourself, so that your beauty can shine into the world. May be guiding you to assume your power as a singer or a healer using sound.
Loss of voice, laryngitis Self-alienation, self-neglect, not knowing or telling your own story, using your voice as a mask or overworking your voice to silence your truth Teaches you to save your voice, go within, touch your truth and speak on your own behalf. May be guiding you into assuming your power as a storyteller.
Stomach aches Anxiety, ambivalence, resistance to change your lifestyle, something you can’t stomach in your life, refusal to feel and transform your emotions, fear connected to deep mental beliefs learned in childhood Moves you to deal with the emotional issues you are avoiding, to go within and get to know the stranger you call “I.” Makes you face the relationships or situations that you can’t stomach. Brings unconscious limiting beliefs to the surface to dissolve the limits that are keeping you away from your dream.
Migraines Anxiety, closing the heart chakra for fear of your heart breaking, self-abandonment that leaves no time for your soul in your life, refusal to take action on behalf of your heart or soul. Absorbing toxic emotions or refusing to release them. Teaches you to release toxic emotions and people, to achieve balance between self-love and love of others, to practice self-love, peace and relaxation every day for your own self-healing, and to take action in order to honor your soul and your feelings.

I hope that some of this helps you to understand the deeper issues involve in the conditions you are facing. For more information, I recommend Louis Hay’s books, as she is a master teacher of somatization and I have found many of her findings to be true. You will find a link to her website below.

The Real Tragedy of Drama Queens

The real tragedy of Drama Queens

By Maria Mar(c)

When you are trapped in your habitual Soap Opera Dramas, you are self-involved to the point that you miss sight of three vital things: your surroundings, other people and your goals. Here is the real tragedy of the Drama Queen.

1. She wastes precious emotional fuel going around in circles.

2. She wastes time and resources going around in circles.

3. She alienates allies, healthy peers and healthy partners with her self-involved, ineffective and habitual dysfunctional scripts.

4. She leaks prosperity, loses clients and wastes money.

5. She adopts the pose of an ineffective, disorganized and unprofessional woman.

6. She fails to see how she is creating stress in those around her.

7. She misrepresents her business or capacity and creates situations where she will not be promoted or hired.

8. She dumps her toxic drama on her loved ones and creates terrible stress on her family, especially her partner and children.

9. She repels her children and partner, who need to move away from her in order to grow and function healthily.

10. She uses her drama to manipulate others, as an ineffective attempt to control the situation and to beg for attention.

11. She uses her power to sabotage her dream as she runs hysterically on the same spot, until she digs her own grave.

12. Because she creates high levels of stress that lead to hypertension, heart attack, muscle spasms, anxiety attacks, stomach trouble, ulcers, brain tumors, cancer, strokes and more. Make your choice.

Would you rather be a Drama Queen or act as the genuine, powerful Queen of your own life and Dream?

SOLUTION:

If you choose to be the real queen, here is one quick, easy way to stop your Drama before it catches momentum.

The minute you see yourself spinning into your Drama, say out loud to yourself: “STOP!”

Then breathe deeply and slowly. As you exhale, say firmly and clearly, without drama: “There is no drama. I am clear and there is no problem.”

As soon as you regain your center, become aware of how you have lost your compass.

  1. See how you are affecting those around you,
  2. See how you have deviated from your goal, and
  3. See how you are creating chaos or anxiety in your situation.

Now proceed to calmly re-focus on your goal or the solution of the problem, sustaining a centered, calming mood and consciously spreading it around.

EXAMPLE:
Let’s say that your usual drama is losing the car keys before going out.You enter a frenzy and send everyone spinning for the keys, just to find them 20 minutes later where you have left them misplaced the night before.

The minute you see yourself spinning that drama, say “STOP” to yourself, energetically and firmly (without involving others in the drama).

Then breathe deeply and slowly. As you exhale, say to yourself: “There is no drama. I am clear and there is no problem.”

Observe how you have lost your compass: Perhaps your family is already tense at the prospect of yet another crazy moment before going out and the anticipation of being late to their appointments. Perhaps by getting into this anxiety rollercoaster, you are neglecting to check that you have what you need for today’s presentation, so that you will sabotage yourself getting there late and unprepared. Perhaps you are creating chaos and stress in your daily life by all these little dramas. RELEASE that choice and embrace Inner Peace.

Now proceed to calmly retrace your steps the last time you place your keys when you got home.

I hope this helps you!

Stop by and leave your comments as things begin to change and you occupy the throne of your true queendom!

Female Secrets in the Law of Attraction-Help your Dream to Walk

Female Secrets in the Law of Attraction

No. 4: Teaching your Toddler Dream to Walk!

By Maria Mar©

Author of the

Dream Kit

Article Series:

If you are a woman, you are an expert in making dreams come true. If you don’t believe it, ask your children, whom you have helped from birth on to flourish. Ask your life partner, whom you support in his or her dreams. Ask your students, nieces and nephews, your clients, patients and neighbors. You can even ask the plants in your garden! In fact, ask anyone around you and chances are, you have helped and support each and every one of them to grow.

Why should you have any difficulty in manifesting YOUR dream? Use the same organic gifts you use for supporting others! Here is a Female Secret in the Law of Attraction that will help you get that dream on the road.

This article is part of a series that shares 4 Female Secrets in the Law of Attraction. The previous articles help you gestate, birth and breastfeed your dream.

If you want all the articles together, with recommended resources to make them work for you, join the FREE level of the Dream Express membership for women who want to manifest their dreams, and you will get the free ebook, Sneak Preview to the Female Secrets in the Law of Attraction.

If you’ve done your gestating, birthing and breastfeeding work, your dream has grown from the times you were daydreaming. Now it is part of your life. You feed it every day and it grows. Your next challenge is to help it walk. It needs to go with you wherever you go. But more to the point, it needs to take you where you want to go!

How does a dream walk? When you are teaching your beautiful child or baby niece to walk, don’t you often stand on one place and have another adult; the father or aunt, for example, stand on the other end? Then the other person invites the child to move forward while you safely coach and sustain the little one, in case it wavers.

That’s exactly what you will do now. Use the Female Secret of Cooperation. The Universe flows this way, through cooperation. As a woman, you master cooperation in sisterhood, family and community. The Male Way is competition. It is a legitimate way, and there is competition in the universe. But the principle that quickens your manifestation is cooperation. It is also an organic way for you as a woman. So how does it work?

Who are your allies? Who stands at a distance of five miles, file degrees of separation or five calls away that could invite and entice your dream forward?

Let’s list some examples.
• You want to promote your new book or product. Five degrees of separation away there is a woman with a radio show with just the right audience.

• You want to meet your soulmate. Five calls away, through friends or a matchmaking service, you can find him or her.

• You want to find just the right home. Five emails away, through your list and their list, you can get the right offer.

This is something you recognize immediately because women are great networkers. But have you used this gift to help your dream walk?

No?
Then here’s a thought. You may be seeing your dream as a selfish act, separated and even in opposition to the dreams and benefits of others.

You need a shift of perception. See your dream as a child that you’ve brought into the world. It came into this world through you, but it has a purpose that goes back to the mysterious universal consciousness. In other words, this child is needed in the world. By helping it to grow and walk into the world, you are fulfilling your life purpose and bringing the dream to those who need it.

Something happens to you as a woman when you see your dream as a child. Now you feel permission to help it grow, to give it your energy, to help it fly free.

That’s because you have been split into an artificial competition between self and others. The universe does not work like that because we are all one. You are an atom in the universal being. Other atoms cooperate with your purpose because it benefits the entire organism, of which all are a part. If you study the new cell biology, you will see that this is true. Cooperation is the rule.

As a woman you are a great networker, a part of a strong sisterhood that may include the women in your family, your peers, friends, classmates, club and community organizations.

You’ve volunteered. You’ve sold tickets. You’ve helped the children and youth. You’ve taken your children to the events. There is a genuine bond between you and your sisters and community.

Do not feel guilty to present your dream to these allies. Find the ways in which your dream benefits them, and launch a campaign to help them while they help your dream walk, and even fly!

Mother’s Day Gift- Self-mothering Practice

Warrior Tree, Mother Tree

Power Posture

Maria Mar(c)2009

This is a Power Posture to help women practice Self-Mothering.

While women take care of children, elders, the sick, the community and their families, many of them find it difficult to take care of themselves.

True, with all their duties, most women find it difficult to find time for self-mothering. But that is just the surface problem. Beneath, lies a deeper emotional reason. We have been trained to place our selves last and to feel guilty for giving ourselves priority.

This exercise calls upon the sacred presence of  Trees to summon your Inner Warrior. This Power Self opens a sacred time and space, connecting you to the forces of the trees, the earth and the Universe for renewal and strength. It helps you to center yourself. Once you find your core strength and center, then you can call upon your Inner Mother to  embrace yourself and practice self-love.

Preparation

  1. In preparation for the practice, copy and paste these instructions.

  2. Download the audio on the right column.

  3. You can also download the beautiful Warrior Tree, Mother Tree original art by Maria Mar for visualization.

AUDIO MEDITATION

Click the link above to download
the audio meditation

and the poster.

Begin your Power Posture by standing with legs comfortably apart.

You can listen to the audio meditation as you adjust your posture.

Through ought your posture adjustment, see and feel yourself as a tall, sturdy tree.

You may want to download Maria Mar’s original Warrior Tree, Mother Tree art and print it as a visual aid.

Visualize your Hara line and feel your chakras spinning along this energy line.

  1. Adjust your stand until your weight is equally distributed between the two feet.

  2. Flex knees slightly, so that they are not locked. This helps in releasing and aligning the pelvis.

  3. Practice deep inhalation, allowing the air to travel all the way down to your belly. Release the air in a slow exhalation. The slower the exhalation, the deeper the relaxation.

  4. Roll your shoulders up and back in inhalation. Then drop them in exhalation. Do this several times, until they are relaxed.

  5. Release your lower spine by dropping your tail. Swing the pelvis back and forth slowly, until you find the center, where it is neither pushed forward not tugged in.

  6. Readjust your knees and feet again to make sure that your weight is well distributed.

  7. Return to Deep breathing for a while. Look at the tree art or visualize yourself as a tree.

  8. Release the upper spine by lifting the crown of your head upwards while slowly aligning your chin to be parallel to the floor. Feel the seven vertebrae in the back of your neck as they release any crunching and occupy more space.

  9. Stand relaxed, spine released, knees flexed and weight evenly distributed in both feet, and visualize an energy line (the Hara Line) that transverses your body. It shoots up from deep within the Earth core, runs through your spine and rises up towards the heavens. (The second illustration shows the Hara line.)

  10. Close your eyes and feel that energy shooting through you. Gently touch the points indicated here with your hands, one with the left, the next with the right hand, bringing the hands up and connecting each point with the previous one:

    1. Right hand-touch your crotch

    2. Left hand-touch your navel. Connect with the previous point.

    3. Right hand-touch the middle of your stomach. Connect with previous point.

    4. Left hand-touch the space between your breasts. Connect with the navel and then adjust the point in your middle stomach, until the line between the navel and the heart feels straight.

    5. Right hand-the tip of your nose.

    6. Left hand-between the eyes. Connect these points.

    7. Right hand-on the crown of your head. Connect this point with the previous one and then feel the entire line, from the earth through your crotch running up all the way to your crown.

  11. Now you are a tree. As you feel centered and in balance, begin to repeat the words in the Audio Meditation out loud, slowly. To speak like a tree, each work and sound is born in the stillness and silence and then released to the world as a delicious fruit. Remember to breath deeply as you talk.

I am Warrior Tree

Rooted in the deep Earth, I am

Centered and strong, I am.

Drawing life force

from the fire below.

Drawing life force

from the sky above.

I am Warrior Tree,

Connected to the Universe, I am.

  1. Once you feel relaxed, calmed, centered, rooted and aligned, begin to raise your arms above you slowly and lovingly. You are shapeshifting from Warrior Tree to Mother Tree. Speak out the second part of the poem. Again, speak like a tree. As you speak, your branches go up until they are open to the sides, and then you slowly embrace yourself.

Now I open my branches.

Now I release my love

in a generous green embrace.

I love, accept and nurture myself.

I am Mother Tree, I am.

I am Mother.

I am.

  1. Feel your basic goodness. Feel the beauty of your Essence. Feel as perfect as a tree. Allow the green embrace of love to shower all over you. Smile from within.

  2. You may close the meditation there, proceed to journal writing or ask your Inner Child what it needs or want and then do it there or set a time aside to do it during the week.

Practice this Power Posture three times a week until you know it by heart. Then use it whenever you realize that you are neglecting yourself.

Female Secrets in the Law of Attraction-Breastfeed your Dream

Female Secrets in the Law of Attraction

No. 3: Breastfeed your Dream

By Maria Mar©

Author of the Dream Kit

Do you have a desire that you’ve been trying to manifest using the Law of Attraction? You may be missing the most important information for you as a woman. You have the power to quicken the manifestation of your dream using little known Female Secrets in the Law of Attraction. In this article you will learn how to breastfeed your dream! I’m sure you can relate to that, while your testosterone-driven brothers will go “huh?”
Learn more about the Dream Kit.
Birthing your dream is wonderful. If you’ve done that already, your dream is now a real entity, not just an imagined idea. It occupies time and space in your life. But it’s still a dream. It is not yet a full-fledge reality that can sustain your life. When that happens, you will be living the dream. It will no longer be a dream, but a reality. What can you do to grow that baby dream so that it is fulfilled?

Breastfeed the baby, of course. There is a reason why women are “emotional.” (And it’s not our propensity for drama) Emotions are the life-giving liquid that nourishes a dream. Just like a baby needs milk to grow, your dream needs you to feed it with positive emotions. Emotions are the fuel of the Law of Attraction.

The Law of Attraction is not called a law for nothing! Just like the Law of Gravity, it operates within specific parameters. Throw something and it falls. That’s the Law of Gravity. It works through the magnetic pull of earth. The Law of Attraction also works with magnetism. How do you magnetize?
Read more about this book.
Through emotions. Emotions are energies-in-motion that move within your Energy Body. They are the ocean waves within your being, generated and regenerated at the Sexual or Spleen Chakra. Water has been traditionally associated with the emotional realm because our emotions are fluid waves of energy that give color, intensity, texture and force to our thoughts, actions and intentions. Like ocean waves, they pull the tides of universal consciousness towards your desires.

When you pour your passion into your desire, you magnetize it. If you hold back, doubt, give credence to those who detract it or concentrate on the obstacles, you de-magnetize it. It’s as simple as that.

What do you want? Let’s say that you want to finish your book and sell millions of copies to share your wisdom and generate affluence in return.
Join our membership!
Let’s magnetize that desire. You can apply this process to your own desire as you read.

Name five reasons about your dream that charge you emotionally. You will recognize them because you immediately feel enthusiastic, joyful and motivated when you think of them. Here are mine. Do yours along.

1. I feel compelled to share this.
The spiritual knowledge that I’ve been giving about the power of Female Wisdom to create our reality and to change this world is a magnificent gift. It changed me from a tormented artist to a woman who sees beauty and magic in everything. I’m so grateful! It changes the life of everyone who opens her heart to receive it. I feel compelled to share this with as many people as can receive it while I am on this earth.

(Notice the tone and mood. My words are charged with my emotions. Notice the strong verbs. They are signals that I am passionate about this. That’s what we are looking for. It’s not a matter of manipulating language, of choosing the right words. That’s a common mistake. It is about recognizing and daring to share what really ignites your passion.)

2. I love talking, writing and sharing this!
My life is bliss when I am able to communicate this in a way that touches others’ hearts. I love talking about it. I love seeing that magical moment when a woman’s Ancient Heart awakens and recognizes her hidden knowledge. It’s like seeing a door that had remained invisible. Now the person can see it. Now she can walk through it. And I am the bearer of that Alchemical Key!

3. I made a commitment to myself when I was a young woman, to be loyal to my art and my gifts.
Ever since I did that pledge, I have made money from what I love to do, without working on jobs I don’t care about or working for just to make a buck. The more people read my books, the more affluence I can generate from my self-loyalty. That’s the example I want to leave for future generations and that’s my best way to inspire other women. I walk my talk!

4. I want to buy my beautiful home.
I want to purchase my brownstone in New York, so that I can have a performance loft, my studio office and my art studio, all in a four-story building with my living loft and store. I want my beautiful roof-top garden, too. I want to generate abundant affluence to purchase and remodel that building.

5. Meeting new people who are manifesting their dreams is exciting and helps me raise my energy vibration.
I love meeting people who are positive and who take action to manifest their dreams. It charges me with vibrant, positive energy. They understand me, and together we raise amazing power for everyone’s dream. I feel that we are changing not only ourselves, but the entire planetary vibrational field.

There you go. Feel the power of your own five reasons. They are your Emotional Dream Nourishments. They are the emotional milk that nourishes my dream. If you named yours already, you can feel your energy vibration rising and you are charged with faith, motivation and the fire of passion.

Place these five Emotional Dream Nourishments in a vision board, Dream Basket or poster. Look at them every morning to breastfeed your dream. Your dream will grow big and strong and it will soon be your reality.

Self-love. Is it possible?

Self-love. Is it possible?

By Maria Mar(c)2009

Everyone talks about the importance of loving and accepting yourself. But that’s easier said than done. Thousands of good, loving people go through life beating themselves up constantly, carrying old shame and guilt and working hard without ever feeling that they’ve done enough. If you feel unlovable and have a a hard time forgiving yourself, or if you simply want to love yourself more, read on.

At the beginning of your life, you are in a magical state of innocence. You don’t know a thing about the world. You are dependent on others for your very life. You can’t talk or walk. Yet you don’t feel insufficient or defective. How’s that?

At that stage in your life, you are still connected to your Universal Self. Call it God, Cosmic Consciousness, Divine Intelligence or Oneness. You are in a state of Grace. To you, there is no separation between who you are and what you are feeling and the elements in nature and the energy world involved in the experience. You receive everything that happens with an open heart, unclouded by opinion, ideology, fear or judgment. This innocence allows you to learn quickly and easily. If you stumble and fall, you simply get up and keep going. If you hurt, you cry. If you are happy, you laugh. If you like something, you go for it. If you don’t like it, you move away. There is no opinion about the worth, goodness or badness of your emotions or experiences.

Later, you pick up on the opinions and judgments of your elders. You learn that what they dislike in your actions, translates in rejection or punishment for you. But your actions are not distinguished from you. When you cry, they say that YOU are weak. When you are angry and scream, they say that YOU are bad and nasty. If you fall, that is a mistake, and that means that YOU are stupid. All these labels and judgments get attached to your experience and emotions. But it goes deeper than that. They get attach to who you ARE. Your mistakes now stick to you like a stain, and each one makes you more undeserving and imperfect.

You are still carrying that stained film in the form of guilt, shame and insufficiency.

The Sacred Child in you, who lived in Oneness, got buried under all that burden. The way back to your innocence and self-love is the way to your Sacred Child.

What would you do with a little girl who, in making an honest mistake, began to cry and pull at her hair, screaming “I am bad. No one loves me. I am stupid.”

  • You would pick her up in your arms.

  • You would hug her lovingly.

  • You would make sure that she felt your unconditional love and acceptance.

  • You would tell her over and over that she is a perfect, beautiful being because she is made in the image of god, or is part of the Divine Consciousness.

  • You would tell her how much you love her and how she is so lovable, and remind her of the good things she’s done, and how she is kind and generous.

  • You would help her understand that mistakes are important steps in the discovery of solutions.

  • You would help her distinguish between making a mistake and BEING a mistake.

  • Finally, you would help her see how she is loved by you, others and the world.

Do the exact same thing for yourself. The path to self-love is self-mothering.

Light and love,

Maria Mar

Start your Dream Journey

Okay, so you have a dream. Great. What are you doing about it? You can talk about the Law of Attraction until your tongue hangs out. But I personally guarantee you that the only thing you may attract with mental or verbal speculation is a headache. The Law of Attraction, like the rest of the Dream Laws, is about energy and resonance. It is about spinning a vibration that resonates with what you desire. What are you spinning with your words, your every day acts, your deep-seated beliefs, those that you may not even tell others, those that you may not even know you have?

My question is not about working frantically to “fix” yourself. Goddess, no! We are already stretch to the limit and stressed beyond it! I am not asking you to judge or badger yourself, either. I am asking you to look at the landscape of your life. What is in the foreground? What is in the background?

If you are always placing problems in the foreground, your life will be full of problems. If you usually place bills, responsibility, security and survival, your life will be full to the top with…guess what?… bills and survival-based fear and worry. If everyone else and their needs goes to the foreground while you stay in the background, then the landscape of your life is about others, and you are left out of it.

There is a tiny place inside you. It’s perhaps the size of a small treasure chest. Place your open hand, palm down, on the center of your chest. There. That’s the place. The place where you point to when you say “I”. Who is “I” for you? Are you living this “I” that you are in this tiny place called Soul? This is the Seat of your Soul. Are you occupying that seat? Your Personal Dream is an expression of your Soul. It has to do with what nurtures your Soul, what makes you deeply happy (not just entertained) and what fulfills your potential. Are you seating in the Seat of your Soul? Are you giving your Dream a place in the foreground of your life, day after day? Or does your Ipod get more attention than your Soul?
“There are people who put their dreams in a little box and say, ‘Yes, I’ve got dreams, of course I’ve got dreams.’ Then they put the box away and bring it out once in awhile to look in it, and yep, they’re still there. These are great dreams, but they never even get out of the box. It takes an uncommon amount of guts to put your dreams on the line, to hold them up and say, ‘How good or how bad am I?’ That’s where courage comes in.”

Erma Louise Bombeck

I invite you to assume that courage, to own the landscape of your life and begin to bring your Personal Dream, your Soul and yourself to the foreground. This is a process, not a project. To help you start your Dream Journey, I have created this blog. Beyond it, I have created a one-year Dream Journey in a safe place called the Dream Express Membership.

Naming your dream is bringing it to life. Don’t keep it in that tiny box, hidden from the light and the eyes of those who can nurture it. Bring it out into the open, let it roam free in the landscape of your days.

This is not about great acts of heroism or being perfect. This is about moving each day an inch, perhaps a millimeter, closer to your personal truth, to your Soul, to that which dances inside you waiting to be expressed and to take form in the world. Every day a millimeter, an action, a thought, a word, a release, a sharing or a shedding. In one year you will be a different person. More focused, confident and above all, believing in your dream and making it real.

Here’s to dreaming.
